Built for the counter: intake a garment in under a minute

Order management & destressing
for alterations shops

Track clients. Plan the workload. Quote and invoice. All in one place — self-hosted, on your own server.

Seam(De)Stress replaces the paper ticket book and the mental math at the counter. Intake a garment, see at a glance whether the week is already overbooked, and hand the client a printable ticket with a QR code they can use to check status — no account required, no per-seat license, ever.

What is Seam(De)Stress?

It's the web app for everything that happens between "drop off" and "ready for pickup": clients, garments, a searchable service catalog, materials inventory, a workload calendar, and client-ready invoices — all under your own domain. Perfect for alterations and tailoring shops juggling dozens of garments a week, and for solo seamstresses who need the counter workflow to be fast, not fussy.

Key Features

One app for intake, planning, and billing — so the counter, the workroom, and the books stop living in three different notebooks.

Fast Intake

Search or create a client, add garments, tap alterations from a most-used-first catalog, snap a photo, and print a ticket — without leaving the order screen.

Workload Planning

A weekly calendar charges each order's estimated minutes against your daily capacity, with an overdue panel and drag-and-drop rescheduling.

Garment Tickets & Client Portal

Printable per-garment tickets with a QR code, plus a tokenized client tracking page — no login required, and links are revocable anytime.

Inventory

Track thread, zippers, buttons, and fabric with low-stock indicators and a full stock-movement audit log. Stock is consumed automatically from order lines.

Invoicing

Combine orders into a sequentially-numbered invoice, download a branded PDF with a VAT breakdown, and track draft/sent/paid/overdue status.

Notifications

A one-click "notify client" action reaches them by email or SMS when their order is ready, in their own language, with every attempt logged.

No license. No paywall.

Free, forever — because it's self-hosted

Seam(De)Stress isn't a SaaS with a free trial. It's AGPL-3.0 software you run on your own server. There's no seat count, no feature gate, and nothing to buy — just a Docker Compose file and your own infrastructure cost.

Unlimited everything

Unlimited clients, orders, staff accounts, and invoices — no tier to upgrade into.

Modify it freely

The full source is on GitHub under AGPL-3.0 — study it, change it, redeploy it.

Optional donations

If it saves you time at the counter, a coffee is always welcome — but never required.

Common questions

Short answers from our FAQ—see the full FAQ for detail.

Is Seam(De)Stress really free? Is there a license to buy?

Yes — Seam(De)Stress is completely free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. There is no license to purchase, no per-seat fee, and no premium tier. You run it on your own server and pay only for your own infrastructure.

Do I need technical knowledge to self-host it?

Basic comfort with the command line helps. If you can run docker compose up, you can have Seam(De)Stress running in a few minutes. Migrations run automatically, and a single flask seed command creates the admin user and a demo dataset.

Can clients check their order status without an account?

Yes. Every order gets a tokenized tracking link with a QR code — clients open it on their phone to see a status timeline and a ready-for-pickup banner, no login required. Links are revocable and regenerable at any time.

Does it handle invoicing and VAT?

Yes. Combine one or more orders into a sequentially-numbered invoice, download a branded PDF with a VAT breakdown, and track draft/sent/paid/overdue status. Invoice numbering format is configurable from Settings.

What languages does the interface support?

The staff back office and the client-facing portal and documents are available in Dutch (default), French, and English. Documents render in the client's own language regardless of which staff member is logged in.

Built for the Shop Counter

Alterations shops adopt Seam(De)Stress when the ticket book gets illegible, the calendar lives in someone's head, and clients keep calling to ask "is it ready yet?"
